Default importing from fireworks - 11-05-2007 , 07:20 PM

We are trying to find out if it's possible to design a web page in Fireworks
(CS3) and export it into Dreamweaver (again, CS3). We're very new to the whole
thing (obviously), but are trying to learn the best we can. Is this possible
or not, and if it is, what is the best way to do it.

Thanks,
K&T

One more thing: we've tried exporting the page, but, of course, we need to add
username and password fields once the whole page is in Dreamweaver, and this
becomes a problem. We can't make the whole page a background image because we
have 6 buttons that have to work (and do once we get them into DW). So, to add
the username and password fields changes everything and we get those wonderful
blank spaces I've been reading about.

Any ideas? Please?

To answer your first post you can export from Fireworks as HTML so that should
solve your first problem, although many would suggest to do what I am going to
tell you to do.

This has to do with your second problem. In order to make the images work you
need to slice them up. Then you could make those images table cell backgrounds
and just type over the areas you want the text to go. This will allow you to
do all of the coding in Dreamweaver instead of having to worry about exporting
and importing files.

I don't think that will work in the case - 6 of the images are rollover buttons.
