import a remote site

I will be taking over maintenance of a large sit which currently exists only
on a remote server. By remote, I mean far away from me. I am not clear on
how to bring all these files to my computer. If I do it with my FTP program
(WS FTP Home), all the imported files have the current date on them. If I
then start using the synchronize function in Dreamweaver 8, I am wondering
if it will see all the files on my computer as newer than those on the
remote and want to upload them all.

I would like to use Dreamweaver to bring all the files to my computer, but I
am not sure how to do that. Set up a new folder on my computer and ask
Dreamweaver to synchronize the remote with the local folder by bringing all
newer files to my computer?

Define the site's remote server to be the location of the current site
(using the FTP login information that you already have). Connect to the
site in DW, and GET all the files.
