Default Image Viewer problems - 11-07-2005 , 03:06 PM

:brokenheart;

I am new to Dreamweaver 8.0 and used it to set up an image viewer on my web
page. http://members.fullnet.net/westwind/

I put in 57 pictures and there were 8 of them that would not display when
uploaded to my web site. I figured out that Dreamweaver doesn't like spaces,
&, . and such in the photo names. Fixed that but still no luck viewing the 8
files. They were scattered out throuh the list of pictures and all pictures
are located in the same directory as the photoviewer.swf.

I removed the eight pictures and re-inserted them at the end of the list and
they still aren't viewable.

Is there some limit on how many pictures can be placed in an image viewer?

Also noticed that with "Transitions Type" set to Random, it will not go
throught the pictures but seems to want to keep starting over at photo #1. Set
it to Photo and it seems to go through all the photos in order.

Can you post a URL to the page and tell us which specific photos don't show
up? Among other things, you might have an ad blocker (such as Norton) that
doesn't like those file names.

In order to load in a swf movie, your images must be jpg "standard" or
"optimized". The images that don't show are probably jpg "progressive".
If you use photoshop, open the images in PhotoShop and Save-For_Web.
UNCHECK the 'progressive' option.

I posted the web site above but here it is again.

http://members.fullnet.net/westwind/

I have removed the images that wouldn't display but I could add one back if if that would help.

The pictures were in the progressive format. That fixed the problem.

Thanks so much. I didn't know those options even exsisted. Bet that
explaines another problem I was having uploading pictures to a MyFamily web
site too.
