Default Image seach and download? - 07-02-2004 , 07:11 PM

I am building a simple 2-3 page site for use within my company. The site will
include 300-400 images that I would like users to be able to download. I am
looking for a way to put some sort of Search funnctionality into the site. My
thought was to put all the images into a directory and have the search link to
that directory but I have no idea how to go about this. Does anyone have a
solution?

Thanks,
Jonathan

For openers, what would visitors be searching for? Picture of some particular
subject? In that case, you could just type up an alphabetical index.
Or something else?

Are you really going to have 300-400 pix on a couple pages? Full-size pix?
And wouldn't that be a godawful download for skinnyband connections?

Thanks for the response. The site is basically an image library that developers
could pull from. The images are all label with some proprietary alpha-numeric
code. I'm thinking that if I put the images in a directory and then link to
that directory the developers will just see a list of all the files, not the
files themselves, that they can then click on to download. I have already built
a low resolution, small image version of the library when they can get the
codes. So I hope they can just copy the name from low resolution version, put
it into a search field which will direct them to the image they need.

I hope this makes sense. Thanks again for your response.
