Image Maps And Java Script?????

Hello All,

I am first time poster here so I am not sure if this is the appropriate place
to ask this question, so my apologies if it is not.

Anyway, I am currently in the process of building a minor and basic website
without a lot of pages, or technical stuff, and I want to have a menu with
links to certain images that will open up in a different window. So far this
has not been a problem, but I've been using a image maps for navigation and I
can't for the life of me figure out how to force close a window with an image
map link, I've tried different java scripts but have had no luck. Does anyone
know how to do this?
