image don't appear in browser

everything was working before and now everytime that i insert a new image or
replace the existing ones, these end up not appearing in the browser.
I think the problem is that the browser is not recognising the path to the
site.
I've tried to start a complete new site, but the problem persits..?
any ideas?

If you are viewing locally then links need to be set to page relative for
them to view. This is because the true root using localhost is a level
higher than were the website files are normally stored.
