IE preview F12 fails

Hi,

The F12 preview for IE6 was working fine in DWMX2004 running on my PC until I
added Firefox as an alternate browser. Now when I click F12, IE6 fails to
launch and I get a Windows "File Downlaod" popup window . The ctl-F12 opens
Firefox. Resetting the file path to IE6 in File>Preview in Browser>Edit did
correct the problem I have made no changes to my XPSP2 op system in weeks.
Anyone have some ideas on how to fix this?

Sorry for the delay in responding. After a long illness I'm back at my
computer. I have upgraded to DW8 seferal weeks ago. Preview on IE6 and FF was
working fine until today when it fails to open IE when I want to preview dwt
files. I get the same "download mfile" message box. htm files preview fine in
both IE and FF. Rebooting and remove/replace of IE in the Preview in Browser
menu doesn't fix it. Any ideas?

Are you previewing on a site with a testing server defined?

DWT files aren't meant to be viewed in a browser. Create a new HTML child
page from the DWT file and view the child page in the browser.

negative - just trying to preview in DW8 using F12. Is that a forbidden pleasure?

To whom are you replying? I can see DWT files previewed in IE just fine.
FF is a little baffled by them, though.
