Default IE for PC layout issue, please help - 07-09-2004 , 05:41 PM

I have been developing a page for a client and have my template almost complete.

It's a two column table centered on a page using a another table.

http://www.lessflannel.com/gary/addition03/liveperformance.htm

The page renders as I intended in Netscape, PC and Mac, and in IE on the Mac
and eveyr other browser i can test it with. On a PC in IE the page layout is
different.

I have several graphic elements stacked in the first table cell which seem to
have an unintended cell spacing in IE on the PC which means the table is
extended and the two graphic elements do not line up at the bottom of the page.

Can anyone suggest where I am going wrong?

Many Thanks
Mike

It looks okay on IE6.0 (WinXP-Pro) here, unless you mean that the middle row
of images doesn't align left. The answer is not to stack all your images and
hope for the best. Nest a table inside that cell that's 3 rows x 4 columns
and put an image in each one. You'll have much better control.

First, you must delete this from the page -

<!--This file created 10/3/02 5:54 PM by Claris Home Page version 2.0-->

Burn that.

At the risk of nesting another table in there, if each of those images were
in adjacent rows of a 1 column x 7 row table, they would be snug vertically.

Ok so tell me if I understand you correctly... you are trying to align the two
boxes level at the bottom (one with images of people and the other with the
word "Photographer") is that correct?

Thanks Flash.

I have attached a zip of it here.

Your are correct, the two darker grey rounded corner panels should be level at
the bottom of the page and they are in many browsers. But on the PC (windows
2000) and IE (6) the table cell with the section navigation at the top left
expands and throws the whole table out.

Thanks again
Mike

Thank you Murray, Flash and Mad Dog.

Much appreciated.

The page now works correctly, and Murray, I removed the claris works code.

I'm wondering if I mark Mad Dog or Flash as the answer whether we can out
answer Murray and challenge his God status?

Mike
