i need help

so, my business partner recently upgraded something on his computer that runs
our website through dreamweaver...and for some reason it reset the shift/enter
line break command, as in now it doesn't work and it says that "making this
change would require changing code that is locked by a template or a
translator" and i can't find in preferences how to set the shift enter command
back to one line break....any thoughts?
