I cannot connect to server

I have copied my webs folder to my home computer and would like to connect to
our remote server. When I open dreamweaver, the folders show up in the right
hand panel. When I click the "connect to remote server" I get the error message
"dreamweaver cannot determine the remote server time. The select newer and
synchronize will not be available" Then it goes back to the "waiting for
server" barline and never connects.

IF I click the ligtening button, it says "cannot connect to remote folder
public_ftp. Can't change directory to /public_ftp. No such file or directory.

I have files I'd like to upload...help?

Which dreamweaver are you using. If you are using MX '04 I recommend not using DW's internal ftp. It pretty much completely takes over your computer
and you can't do much until it is done. I have gone to FileZilla and like it.

As far as your specific problem goes, the first thing that anybody here is going to tell you is that you didn't give us enough information. If you
could provide the following, you will be much more likely to get a helpful response.

General computer specs including OS. What version of DW. Settings for your remote server; no need to include exact info, just settings and false names
is okay as long as it accurately represents the setup.

When I had that problem enabling passive FTP worked for me.

It has been years since I first saw that message. I saw that warning message,
too. I think it's not necessarily related to the clock on the server computer
or yours. But, in case it is, make sure you have the correct time zone set on
your computer and where you connect to. I think it's a different & very simple
fix, but I can't remember the solution. I think it may be a check box on the
firewall (advanced settings of DW) to allow passive FTP.
