HTTP Error 500

I am having a problem with database connection in Dreamweaver, I am running
Windows XP Pro with SP2. When I create a OLE DB connection for a asp.net page I
use build, select the provider (Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB Provider) select the
db I want to connect to and test the connection in the data link properties
box, this comes back test successful! I enter a connection name and finally
test the connection in the OLE DB Connection box. This returns the error Http
500 Internal Server Error, If I click ok the database is shown but no tables. I
have tried the extension fix posted by microsoft but it still wont work.

Can anybody Help
