Don't know, but you can use this one instead: http://validator.w3.org/ Micha |

Just received word from Macromedia that the problem described at the URL above is still an issue. In other words the XHTML 1.0 Strict validator still has deficiencies in V8, and was not fixed. They did say that it will be fixed in "future versions". In the meantime, for those that have requirements to confirm to the strict standard, do not use Dreamweaver's XHTML 1.0 Strict validator in MX 2004, or 8 and expect accurate results. I recently tested and approved a solution that not only validates correctly, but will batch process multiple files. Check out "A Real Validator" at http://arealvalidator.com/. So, if you don't like using the online W3C validator, this may be the one for you. Chris |

Even if/when it is fixed and validates correctly, Murray? Perhaps you really don't have a need for it. |

Even if/when it is fixed and validates correctly, Murray? Perhaps you really don't have a need for it. Would be handy to validate in the same place I build. Dreamweaver has the potential of being the all-in-one solution: build, link check, validate, publish, source control. This is why I'm disappointed (and surprised) that Macromedia ignored fixing the validator in V8. Particularily in light of the manditory use Section 508, and CLF for government Web sites. What do you use, if any? Chris Originally posted by: Newsgroup User Personally, I never rely on DW's validation. Never have. Never will. So this one is a <shrug> for me.
