how to use shared folder as local root folder

the documentation on

about Using a shared network folder as a local root folder.

The shared network folder has the required permissions for Dreamweaver to
operate correctly: full Read, Write and Modify permissions.

how would i go about giving dreamweaver read and write and modification
premissions ... where would i be doing that... on the exchange server.. on the
folder.. any suggestions.. thanks
