Default How to see included files and CSS in Design View - 11-04-2004 , 01:08 PM

Our CSS and included header and footer files reside at the root level of our
large website. Individual authors are setting up sites in DW to point to
directories within the website, but when they open pages in Design View, they
can't see the includes or the styled content. All the pages look fine in the
browser.

How can authors see the pages in Design View as they really are, without
having to create a site at the root level?

Thanks,
Nancy

Use DW's Design-time stylesheet feature.

Shouldn't you be using code view?

Maybe I didn't make it clear. The code is fine and in code view the "includes'"
and links to CSS files are all there--; that's why the pages show up properly
in the browser. But working in Design View is much easier if the text is
rendered according to the applicable CSS and if you can see the included files.

Thank you for the tip about the Design Time style sheet. Is there a similar feature that will allow the included files to show in the Design View as well?

Nancy

Unfortunately, I think you're hung on that one. But it's not a bad idea.
Please submit a request for Design-time includes here -
