How to open a URl for downloadng files

I am very new to Dreamweaver.

I just started today.

I need to open an IP address in macromedia 4 to download certain files

Can any one help me with that

How do you mean you want to open a ip address.

an ip address is 212.138.233.76 <<< try opening that after a few beers

are you trying to say you wish to download files from your server where you
have the user name and password to where the content lie.

i have IP address of a server with user name and password and i ned to open certain files for editing from the server

Pls help me with this ... I am a beginner

ask your isp what is your "ftp host", I know mine is ftp.mysite.com and the
host dir is "htdocs", but yours could be different.

i learnt how to connect to FTP ... i need to connect to HTTP://localhost in that IP address cud u help me with that
