Default How do you learn Dreamweaver CS4 with not prior websiteknowledge? - 03-29-2009 , 11:40 PM

Where can I find Dreamweaver CS4 tutorials? yes, have been to adobes
dreamweaver learning center. they have one for CS3, a five part tutorlial, but
it is nothing the same to do it in CS4. and they have specific little
interactive movies on the site but nothing that is like the 5 part build a
website tutorial.

Can any one give me links to some really good Dreamweaver Tutorials that are
specifically for CS4? I have never built a website but have been reading
website programming.. but there seems to be a huge gap to get going. need
help!!!

I am dissappointed that there is not better tutorials with such an expensive
program. Adobe, you are slipping.

There are about 37 beginner level Dreamweaver CS4 videos on the
http://tv.adobe.com site. The best advice you will get here is to learn
HTML and CSS. Once you learn those two things, Dreamweaver will be a walk
in the park. Until you have a good grasp of HTML and CSS, you will be
thoroughly frustrated with Dreamweaver.

Hi Kev,
I started with Dreamweaver 1.2, and I knew very little about web design.
It was through this forum (via NNTP) 10 years ago that Murray start
pushing HTML at me. So I went out and bought Web Design in Nutshell, and
got the basics down, including the early parts of CSS, and only then was
I ready to take on Dreamweaver.

It took many years to get competent, but its well worth it. I have been
learning web design in this forum ever since, I am always learning. If
you want to get on in web design, you need to understand that its not as
easy as drawing a page on your screen. You need to understand the code
whether you like it or not, only then will you be able to use
Dreamweaver to help you make awesome sites really quickly.

Good luck!

As well as the links below - another way to learn (including anyone else's bad
habits) is to find a page you like, and then tell your web browser to show you
the code view for the page and/or do a "Save As" and save the page to your
computer to then copy & paste code segments into your file (in IE click View at
the top, select Source from the options)
