How do I make an interactive table?

As a graphic designer and with some websites created, I'm intending to
increase my skills in Dreamweaver.
Environment: Mac-G4-OS 9.2.2-Dreamweaver MX

I'm working right now in a customer's website that needs an interactive
table. The viewer has to write a number in a cell, and every other cells
make arithmetical calculations according to the number entered.

Can you help me in any way?

Do you want to do this on the client side with javascript or on the server
side with a scripting language like ASP?
