Thank you for your help Murray. This "Define a Site Process"... Is this
something I can find in Dreamweaver, i.e.; a button or menu somewhere? How do I
do it?

Thank you to all! I can easily copy my site to my hard-drive... I've been
using
Teleport Pro, (have not tried Google or WebAssist), but I cannot find a
way to
make Dreamweaver "see" that it's a site... All I can do is browse and open
pages. Where's the "Import" button?
There is no IMPORT button for this. This is where the 'define a site'
process comes in handy. When you define the site to point into the root
folder for the site you just copied, then you will see all those files.

If you already have a copy of the site on your computer, simply create a
new site definition in DW and specify the folder containing the web site
as the local site root. If you do not have a local copy of the site, you
will need to download the entire site first. Download it with an FTP
client or, as Murray suggested, a "web site copier".

Open DW. Press F1. Read about defining a site.

I submitted a reply to this and it may or may not have gotten thru...if it did,
disregard one of them...

I joined these forums because I started out using GoLive which was a terrible
program. I updated to DW and was much happier. Anyway, GoLive did have a
feature in it to pull a site off the web which was the only redeeming thing
about GL. If you have GL, you can use this feature easily. If not, don't sweat
it...the help you will receive here is the best and these folks will not lead
you astray.

For what it's worth...

Cheers,

Wordman

I learned that this (creating a site and downloading an existing site)can be
accomplished through Dreamweaver's own File Manager...

From main Menu Bar:

Site > New Site > (setup the site info and ftp connection).

A window will open with your new site highlighted.

Form that new window's Icons/Menu choose:

Get > Are you sure? > Yes

The file download commences.

You should now see the two sites (local and remote) in a split screen and can
double-click the page you want to open and edit.
