Default How to?: background colour 'cutoff' - 07-06-2003 , 12:07 PM

Hi (yes, I top-post)
I'm a *really* new designer (aka "I'm a hack") but I noticed one thing about
your page. It seems to abruptly cut off @ the right-hand side of the
screen.

I've NO idea how to fix it, but I know there is some method to have the
screen autopopulate your file with a colour to accommodate the
"browser/resolution expansion".

I don't even know if its the proper *name* for what you'd want to do.

Can someone help me out here??

Fady,

Try ProjectSeven.com's tutorials for lots of great information. Here's one
specifically about a page-spanning colour band:
http://www.projectseven.com/tutorials/qtoots/bgbar.htm

Hope this helps.

Craig.

Folks:

Crossposting is not usually a good idea. Please don't (crosspost retained).

Just pick a single forum and post there. If it's not the right one, someone
will tell you.

crossposting isn't that bad, in fact it's actually better than making
multiple posts, but lets not let realism get in the way of your usual moan

No, let's not do that. And the idea is to not make multiple posts either.

If you want to get a more complete take on my usual moan, you might try
reading this -

6)Please don't cross-post

as copied from the recent post called "Posting Guidelines [Mon Jul 7
09:01:00 UTC 2003]". It's an infomative read....

(crosspost retained once again)

Well every post was helpfull to me, I am not sure if you once get seven or
eight comments and they were of no value to you then may be you are too
professional or you didn't read the posts well.
God bless you

Fady:

But here is the problem. People sometimes spend lots of time and effort
formulating a response to a question. If the question has been crossposted,
and if the responder doesn't then check each of the crossposted forums, they
may never discover that a much better answer has already been posted - which
would have allowed them not to take the time to make their response.

Furthermore, many people do not realize that the original post was a
crosspost, and they then reply. This causes identical, and sometimes long
threads to be built on each forum. It's just unnecessary.

In my opinion (and I also bellieve in the forum owners' opinion) the best
solution is to pick a forum of interest and post. If you do not get the
answers you want, then pick another forum and post. See what I mean?
