onblur="top.close()" Mick WAH! It's not working, Mick. The top frame body tag is now <body onblur="parent.close()" leftmargin="8" topmargin="2" marginwidth="8" It's at http://www.coolcats.com/flash.html, thanks! |

Works for me. What browser are you using? Mick Wow, no kidding! I'm using IE 6.0.2800.1106 and Firefox 0.8 on Win2000 |

Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing: If a viewer opens the popup window form the link at http://www.coolcats.com/flash.html and then loses focus on the popup, I want it to close. And you are seeing this happen? |

"Jerry McEwen" <no.m (AT) il (DOT) thanks> wrote in message news:e94ic05d5vlqqkkcmc2ij1f38v1k5ul840 (AT) 4ax (DOT) com... Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing: If a viewer opens the popup window form the link at http://www.coolcats.com/flash.html and then loses focus on the popup, I want it to close. And you are seeing this happen? What he was saying that "parent.close()" is not the same thing as "top.close()". The latter is what he said to use, but you are using the former. Now, that said, if you click on the top frame of the popup window, it will then work. This is just another case of frames being a morass of grief. The frame cannot "blur" until it gets focus. Gary |

I hear what you are saying about the particular frame needing focus, but it's just not working from here...but thanks for pointing out that, that's a very good point I hadn't considered. Frames seemed harmless enough in this circumstance, but I'm spending a lot of time trying to get them to behave. I think I'll ditch the frames, thanks! |
