Default HELP!!! SImple problem in Dreamweaver i cant get - 08-02-2004 , 05:23 AM

I am using one of the dreamweaver templates to create a website, but for some
reason while the site seems fine in dreamweaver, when i view on the internet,
there is a scroll bar at the bottom of the screen, so one has to scroll over a
little to one side to view all the site.

does anyone know what i am doing wrong or how to adjust the site so that the
whole site will fit on the screen without a scrollbar appearing at the bottom?

thanks so much for any help

seems to me like its just resizing the page? what resolution are you on - I'll
bet if you use a higher one it'll be fine.

Means though that people with lower res than your self will have a scrollbar
too.

I always try to stick to 880 px maximuyn width - not a lot of people use less
than that thse days!

Bad advice, chum.
The user's screen resolution isn't always the key to the window width. I
have a 1280 x 1024 resolution, but rarely use a browser window wider
than 800px. And I'm not alone...
880px width is definitely too wide. If you want a fixed width page,
about 750px width is pretty OK since it'll be accommodated in 800 x 600
screens with some real estate for the scrollbar, too.

In short: Your page is wider than your browser window.
Since no one here has a clue about the width you page has, nor the width
of your browser window, you can't get a straight answer.
Show the page (a URL) or at least post the code to the page here, and
someone will give it a shot.
