Default ~~Help on server connections using PHP MySQL ~~ - 08-01-2004 , 01:46 AM

I am trying to create a registration and login page for my website using PHP
MySQL. In my webhosting control panel, I created an SQL database with a table
that contains 3 columns: username, password, and email.

Then, I went into Dreamweaver MX 2004 and created my form. I used my local
folder to be my ... local folder, and my remote folder to be my website
(connected via FTP). The testing server had the same settings as the remote
folder. When I clicked the test button, it was successful.

So, I went to the databases panel and tried to create a new MySQL connection.
I entered all of my information, but when I clicked "select database", it gave
me an error message:

HTTP Error Code 404 File Not Found.
1) there is no testing server running on the server machine.
2) the testing server specified for this site does not map to the ....... url.
Verify that the URL Prefix maps to the root of the site.

Could anybody help me get this working?

Hi There,

I would check your site Definition to see if you have correctly
speciifed your testing server, and also, check that it is running.

You can check your Site Definitions by going into Site -> Manage Sites.

Cheers,

This is a very common problem, and usually means the testing server settings
are not correct. I have a guide here that will help you:

It explains how the connection process works, and gives advice on how to
solve problems
