Default Help, photoshop website to dreamweaver - 07-05-2006 , 09:12 PM

:confused;

Please help, I am not sure if I am even using the right software. I made a
complete website in photoshop, layers and all, when i import it into
dreamweaver, I cannot seem to edit it by adding text overtop? Cannot type text
over the images of my photoshop file that I imported. What is the
easiest/fastest method on going from photoshop to web?
I want to be able to edit / update changes to my site without going all the
way back to photoshop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks

You need to slice up the photoshop image, you don't import the whole graphic
into dreamweaver, or use the code that is generated by photoshop.

You slice the images, export them into a folder in your defined DW site and
then build the page using DW. You insert your images into your table or div
layout. If some of the images are to be 'typed over', you need to use them
as background images via CSS.

If this is how you are going to create your websites, then investigate "Site
Grinder" a commercial product that will create the entire page/site for you.

If you aren't going to use something like that, then you are just going to
have to learn some HTML to move you into the realm of *real* web page
development rather than putting an image only page on the web, which is what
you are describing.

How can we help you do that?
