Default Help needed, on reinstalling web Site - 08-01-2004 , 12:39 PM

just this week my pc has gone down BIG time with a program called Back Orifice,
my fault shouldnt of played around with it, anyway my pc was messed up, so had
no choice but to reformat and start again.

The only way i could see of getting my site on to a floppy/disk was to use the
Export/Import from the site manages tab to save it out on to disk, if there was
another way of doing it I don'nt know.

So now i have copys of my web site on disk, when i came to import it back on
to a new install of dreamweaver it tells my that , this site is read only,

Am i not importing the site ( Wright????) or did i not get the site on my disk
from the Export util

Thanks Andy

While this will work (a site at a time), there are better ways -

You saved it to a CD? Use Windows Explorer to unset the Read Only attribute
in the Properties for each file.

The process you described will only export the site DEFINITION, not the site
files. Did you also save them?
