Hi, I am building a standard web page with the navigation links on the left hand side. But when i update one of the links i need to update that change in every page. What is the best way to automatically update this navigation so that it changes all the pages in one step? In the past i would use frames, but i always hear this is bad news. Can anyone offer any advice with this. |

Just to add to Osgoods' excellent advice, if you don't want to use templates, you could save the menu as a library item, and insert that into your nav bar section, the library item also updates every page it is on, as you make changes to the menu, however, as with templates, you will need to re-upload every page to your server whenever you make changes. Good idea for smaller sites though. |

I drag down a lot of code from other peoples sites (I would say reasonably advanced users) and I rarely see a library item used. When I do come across a library item it annoys me because it hinders |

When I do come across a library item it annoys me because it hinders problem solving. I first have to go get the item from their server and introduce it into the code so it becomes unlocked. grrrrrrr. I havent had to do that in a long long long while and now I doubt Iwould bother |
