Default Help with mouseOvers - 11-10-2004 , 09:50 PM

I'm learning DreamWeaver and want to do a mouseover for a site. Dreamweaver
does not seem to be able to do it though. Do I need FireWorks or something
else. This is getting expensive... Thank anyone who can help...

You need an image editer such as Fireworks to create the two images you want
for the rollover (or mouseover). With the two images saved to your hard drive,
click Insert > Rollover image. I hope that helps...

What do you want to happen when someone mouses over? Swap an image? Change a
navigation image? Or just have a link change color? Each is a different
function that happens when someone mouses over. If it's just text link
changes, see: http://www.thepattysite.com/linkstyles1.cfm. If it's the
others, check DW's HELP and look for image swap info.

Hello, You can read about Fireworks here:
http://www.macromedia.com/software/fireworks/productinfo/overview/ And see some
things it can do on this site (look for the orange squares with FW in them):

Is that last url right? There is a bug in the DNS on Panther, but after repeatedly trying, I can't get that address to work...

Thanks...

you can use any jpg or gif, you don't need fireworks.
To produce the images you can use photoshop or anything that will covert
to jpg or gif.
Then put the images in a folder in your site (you need to define a
folder for your site) and then you do your mouseover in Dreamweaver.
It's a behavior (open behavior panel) that you apply to a link.
So if you place an image or some text in your page, make it a link, and
then open behavior panel and select swap image. The dialog box with
guide you for the rest.
