Default Help! Images don't display... - 11-02-2005 , 08:15 PM

Heya,
I am WAY confused. I had ALL my sites files in a testing folder and then
I moved them into the root and deleted the testing folder. But now only the
images on the index.htm page appear.
Now, I know that all my URL's are correct for two reasons. One: I checked
them all, duh. And two: the extensions all begin with: "../" which directs them
back to my root folder. So after verifying the image URLs didn't accomplish
anything I just tried to insert new images, but even when I insert a completely
new image, they STILL don't display. Can anyone help??

-Thanks guys!
-Spence

Actually not. That is a document relative link which says "wherever you
are, go up one directory level, and then start looking for the image.
That's likely your problem. Did you move these files with DW?

You are absolutely right, I thought that the "../" extension took it back to
the ROOT folder, but I tried inserting an image againt with the path relevant
to the document and it worked. Thanks a ton! And no, I didn't move it with DW
(mistake #1 I know :/)

You should always do such things with DW and let it manage those links.

Also as an aside... I looked at your site and found the image files under
http://www.hookmedia.biz/testing/ so if you took them out of the testing folder
you may have only made that change locally. You will have to move the files on
the remote server as well. Regards.
