help! html updates to html.1on remote server

Can you help with this? My html & jpeg files are on the remote server OK. But
when I save changes to any of the files they are not change or updated instead
a new file is made on the server with an extension .html.1 I can then view
both of these files in the browser. Is it a problem with dreamweaver or my ISP
FTP server? Here's two of the files. Any suggestion greatly appreciated.

Try uploading some files using a different FTP client like IE, WS_FTP,
FileZilla, to see if the problem is the server or DW:

HI David, thanks. I used IE ftp and no problem. Removed and Re-installed Dreamweaver 8 but the problem continues. I'll try my laptop and see what happens. Thanks for the page link. Jerry

Same problem using my laptop to the same server.
A newly created page can be downloaded successfully.
However. when it is edited locally using DW8 and then saved, then put the html
file is created on the server and the page I want to update is left unchanged.

I will try a different free server service and see if the problem is repeated.

i have no problem updating or changes files at angelfire.com.

So I conclude that the homechoice.co.uk sever is for some reason not working with DWeaver.
