Default help with help - 01-29-2004 , 10:21 AM

This is really WEIRD! When I call up Dreamweaver (MX) Help, I'm linked to Apple's help. I have the "Using Dreamweaver" folder in the Help folder in my DW folder. What gives? I REALLY need it.

Thanks.

The DW installer has a bug (starting with MX in that it fails to locate the
help files correctly.) From a post by "blu":

Do a find file for:
Using Dreamweaver MX
It should be a folder in ??-->Macromedia Dreamweaver MX-->Help
And also an alias in the appropriate help folder location for your system.
Either fix the alias, or make new ones to replace the broken ones.

Depending on what you've installed, these three folders in Macromedia
Dreamweaver MX-->Help:
ColdFusion
Extending Dreamweaver MX
Using Dreamweaver MX

In mac osX create alias of those folders and drag to:
HD-->Users-->Your User Name-->Library-->Documentation-->Help

In classic mac, drag to:
HD-->System Folder-->Help

That should fix the help file's alias system so it will open in the Help
Viewer when the Dw menu for help is used.
