Default Help with creating web photo albums! PLEASE! - 07-02-2004 , 03:49 PM

Ok, I have Dreamweaver MX and Dreamweaver 4 and 3 and I am unable with either
one of these to create a web photo album. I go through the steps, but once I
am browsing for the "source image folder" it does not show any of my
photo/image files, and then when completed it simply says "an error ocurred"
--- now, like I said, it does the same with my other versions of Dreamweaver,
so there must be something I am not doing right here...all my pictures and
images show fine in the rest of my webpage and the Site folder, they simply do
not show up when browsing for them for the creation of a web album....can
anyone help me figure this out?

Thanks
Musiquito

I suspect there are two issues here:

1) The browse folder control used in Macromedia's Create Web Photo Album
acts in this unhelpful way - it displays the folder and its subfolders, but
the files within. You have to KNOW where the files are there. (<ad> my
JustSo PhotoAlbum3 Extension - which works on MX and MX2004 but not earlier
versions of DW) allows you to see the image files listed, preview them, and
choose which ones you want to add to the Album</ad>

2) The "an error occurred" message may well be caused by one of your image
files having a bad header. It would display just fine elsewhere, but when
fireworks tries to operate on the img, it chokes - yielding that error
message. The only way I know to deal with this in the MM Create Web Photo
Album extension is to break up the images into subgroups in subfolders and
go through them a group at a time until you find the culprit. <ad again> my
JustSo PhotoAlbum3 Extension, as described above, makes this process far
easier because you can choose within your one folder just which images to
test. </ad, lol>
