Most ISPs that give away free webspace do not allow you to run downloaded
scripts regardless of the language. I know my ISP Comcast has premade
guestbooks and other scripts that you are allowed to run, but that is the
limits of what you can do. I would check with your ISP because they might have
some premade stuff that you can use. Otherwise you will have to see what, if
any scripting languages they allow on the server. At the most I can't imagine
it being more then CGI or Javascript.

You will need to know what languages are allowed. For the most part if this is
a free site from your ISP, you will probably only be able to use CGI and
Javascript types of scripts. I would recommend going to a site like
www.hotscripts.com and finding some scripts there in the CGI files for a
Guestbook.

I would look at the NMS Guestbook that can be found at:

http://nms-cgi.sf.net/scripts.shtml

in the first place. It is a CGI program written in Perl.
