graphic instances??? jpeg

if i'm using a certain graphic (jpeg as a background) on every page of my
website, is there a way to have dreamweaver use a "copy" of it so it reduces
file size??

i know FLASH uses what they call INSTANCES of the same graphic to reduce file
size.

The first time it's fetched it's placed in the browser's local cache. It'll
be used from there for the remainder of the session!
