Default Gradient backgrounds in a table - 04-27-2006 , 12:33 PM

Hi,

Could I put a gradient fill in a table, I've seen it done on the freewebs site but that was using a basic site builder.

Hope someone can help,
James

Sure - you can create a gradient image in an image editing program (like
Fireworks, Photoshop, etc.), and then set it as the background image for the
table, or for individual table cells, using CSS.

Hope that might help?

Just to add to Patty's comment - when you create your gradient image, you're
CSS could look something like below:

For every single table -

table {
background: #FFF url(image.jpg) repeat-x;
}

Your repeat may vary depending on size, style, etc.

Or even create a class to apply to certain cells, tables, etc -

..cellback {
background: #FFF url(image.jpg) repeat-x;
}

And apply like so -

<table ... class="cellback">

or

<td ... class="cellback">

Yes you can. I have an example and a downloadable png file that you can use
as a basis for your own gradient....
