Default google my google - 07-07-2004 , 06:29 AM

I recently reformatted all my gif roll-over to CSS. Things load much quicker
now BUT google still cannot find me even though all my contents links are pure
text.

Can some one please tell me what I need to do for google to find me???????????
My site has been up for about 8 months and all the links changed to text since
about 2 weeks ago.

Thanks in advance.

2 weeks is almost no time and it's rare that Google will pick up and
index a site that fast.
But what's more is that it's no guarantee that your site will show even
if you have changed the links to pure html (as opposed to javascript, I
assume?). It depends on the sum of all elements that Google is looking
for, compared with other sites that are relevant to the same search phrases.

See if it's included at all by going here:

Add your site's URL and hit "go".

Well, a couple of things:
- It's not where the links on your site go, it's what other sites link
to you that determine how/when search engines (SEs) find you. Which is
to say: who links *to* you?
- There's virtually no content on your page. If you want SEs to find
you, you have to give them something to chew on, and content is king.
As I Understand It, having things like headline tags (<h1>, <h2>, <h3>)
with appropriate content and appropriate keywords *in the text of the
page* will increase your SE ranking.
- Just putting keywords in Meta tags in the head of a page won't
necessarily attract SEs' attention. In the early days of SEs, they got
abused, and so many SEs ignore them now.

And if you want to read a bit more on the subject, there are some good
articles on SEO at the link in my sig.
Have you sumitted to the dmoz directory yet? That's the first place I go
when I submit a site.
You could still have graphics as your buttons and get googled btw, it
depends on a lot of other factors, such as keywords throught your content
text, keywords in H1 tags, etc etc., all explained in the articles I
mention

and it delievered a report, and I couldn't figure out what the numbers

The "saturation" report tells how many of you pages are indexed.
The "popularity check" show how many other sites have links to yours.
Etc.
It's explained under each frame.

To say the least, to figure in SE's you need some text content, a title in
relation, a decsription in your meta tags and one keyword meta tag, you have 4
of them, use one and separate your keywords with a comma, thus as someone else
said, most engine just ignore them or don't make much use of them, content is
king in this game, I find it take an average of 5 week for google to find a
site, you can submit at http://www.google.com/addurl.html
