Default GoLive CS Site to Dreamweaver MX (6.1) - 11-23-2003 , 10:14 PM

I would like to convert a GoLive CS site to Dreamweaver MX (6.1). I have had DW since vs. 4 but never learned how to use it.

Any suggestions for conversion of GLCS site or learning DWMX would be appreciated.

Linda

Linda:

Depending on the version of CS, and the complexity of the code, you will be
much better off just recreating the site. The code written by CS is a
hopless mass of csaction tags and scruff.

To open the site's pages in DW is simple. In DW you would define a site
that points to the root of the CS site, and just start opening pages.

It is an obscure reference to the HAHA in my email address.

Hi Murray,

Now I see why you said "Don't laugh"... BTW, I tried to email but it was returned.

Thank you for your comments on my question about converting a GoLive CS
file to DreamWeaver MX.

I am interested in your book on Templates. I'll check it out at Barnes
& Noble... a Christmas present to myself.

Linda

I built a new site in DreamWeaver CS (6.1). Now I will bring in my old GoLive CS site, which is rather large.

Once I do this, is there a quick easy way to clean up the code on all pages?

Given the nasty mess that GL makes on pages? No, sorry, I don't think there
is any easier way than to simply cut and paste content.

That's bad news. My current site folder contains 89.8 MB... some of which are client files for download, but still it is rather large.
