Default gaps in table with explorer - 09-14-2004 , 12:15 PM

Hi,

I made this simple table in dreamweaver mx
http://www.ceramicaplus.cz/index2.htm. It
looks okay in Firefox, but there are some
gaps in IE 6. The table was done in design view;
I cleared all cell heights and widths as I saw
in archived suggestions but to no avail.

The table is so simple I feel like an idiot not
being able to find the problem! Any help would
be greatly appreciated.

This is a bit of a bugger. I've had exactly the same problem just recently.
You have to make sure that all your table cells are valigned to top. I've
looked at the page and I can see where the problem is I think. The buttons
on the left seem to have dropped a couple of pixels.

What I do in cases like this is select the offending tables and set the
background colour to something really bright like lime green. Then I set
the cell padding to 10 and maybe add a 10 pixel bright red border. It then
becomes apparent where the problems are.

<td width="150"><img src="image/top_left.gif"
width="150" height="94"> </td>

I finally discovered there was a space before the
closing td tag. I tracked it down by opening the
file in Frontpage (it looked fine in the Dreamweaver
design view and in Firefox). I imagine one of my
cats pressed the space bar while I wasn't looking.
