Default FTP problem when changing port number - 07-13-2003 , 11:20 AM

I think I have a problem with my router. If I connect to my webserver on port 21 the contents of my folders are listed fine and I don't have any problems. If I change the ftp port to something else none of the folders or contents are listed.

I'm using a linksys router. I added the port number I want to use in the router setup and have it forward all traffic for that port to my webserver. I changed the FTP site in IIS to use the new port number. In Dreamweaver MX I changed the site to use firewall prefs and added the new port number there.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Chuck

What output do you see in DW's ftp window?

Try checking the passive ftp option in the remote site definition to see if
that makes a difference.

Yes, I tried it with and without passive checked in Dreamweaver & WS_FTP, I still get the same error.

If I take the Linksys router out it works fine for either port I specify, but I don't want to take out the Linksys because I'm using it as my firewall. I'll see if I can get another router and see if that fixes the problem.
