Forms with refering drop down meuns

Im looking to implement a form into my site where users select from a drop down
menu, selecting either hardware or software. When they have made their
selection, the form will give them a further drop down menu with, for example,
software: word, excel, dreamweaver, sage. And if you pick hardware it will
say: printer, monitor, mouse etc. The user will then be able to give further
info before pressing submit and sending the details along with email & name to
an pre-specified email address.

how do i go about doing this or do i need to buy a script? ive done forms
before but not forms where selecting an option gives further options. there is
no need for a secure server on it either.
