Formatting option for the bindings is greyed out

Urgent help needed!

While I am creating a dynamic table, I created a recordset from a joint table.
When I try to format the date using the built in format option in binding
panel, I cannot see the formatting option/arrow that brings the formatting menu
on... It is all greyed out.

Do any of you experienced this before and how did you solve.
