Forcing an open/save dialog

Anyone know how to force an open/save dialog to appear when clicking on a
media link (mp3/mpeg) ? Currently, when you click on a song or movie on my
site it just has the ol' hourglass and nothing more to indicate the
progress of the download.

put it in a zip file - this should force the download....otherwise it will
attempt to open in the user's system default media player (whatever that might
be).
