Default force reload question - 12-24-2003 , 12:11 PM

If a person is reading a page from cache I'd like to force a reload if the page
on the web has been updated since the page in cache.

Simple cookie code to do this?

Is there a better way?

This is about all you can do:

Thanks. It seems too simple:
<META http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache">

Just what does PRAGMA refer to?

pragma
A directive to the idltojava compiler to perform certain operations while
compiling an IDL file. For example, the pragma "javaPackage" directs the
idltojava compiler to put the Java programming language interfaces and classes
it generates from the IDL interface into the Java programming language package
specified.

Harvey:

I am led to believe that a link like this -

<a href="foo.html?"....

will force the page to be reloaded from the server. I have not tested this.
