Hi people, I need to edit some template files for my cms (interchange). The internals of the appserver require the files to be without extension to avoid confusion with html code. Problem is that Dreamweaver refuses to show anything in design view because it cannot determine the filetype. I could ofcourse create symbolic links to the extensionless files, but that would be my last resort ![]() How can I force DW to show me the files in design view? -Patrick |

http://www.macromedia.com/support/dreamweaver/ts/documents/add_ext_mx.ht m add those file extensions to whichever Server Model you want them to be used as inside of dreamweaver. Note- be sure to work in the Configuration folder for YOU as a USER. |

How do I tell Dreamweaver that a file without *any* extension should be interpreted as .html without renaming it. I already tried adding a new filetype with . as extension, but that doesnt seem to work |

You can not even tell a Windows *operating system* that files without extensions are of any particular type. Files without extensions are untyped and cannot be classified like that. Gary |

Yes, that is obvious. But it could ofcourse be that there is a function that would make DW treat unknown files as html |
