flash button to mainframe?

i'm a 55+ year old newbie to asking questions about dreamweaver (mx2004)
though i have done quite a few (simple) commercial sites, so please bear
with me.

i have created a frameset, left verticle frame has flash buttons linked
to mainframe - all fine. i have one button that replaces the left frame
flash buttons with another set. still ok. however, when i try to direct
these 'imported' flash buttons to open pages in the mainframe, i'm told
there isn't any mainframe connected with them (i created this new set of
buttons on a clean page - in a table).... (i have worked around this by
cutting and pasting the table containing the buttons into the original
frameset, directing them to mainframe - and then leaving them alone! it
works, but it is very inelegant, and i'm sure dreamweaver isn't so
primative as not to have some obvious (but not to me) solution.
