Default Firewall problems - 11-14-2005 , 07:06 PM

I have just installed the free protection software PC Guard that I can utilise
by subscribing to telewests blueyonder broadband service. Previously I was
paying for Norton's.
I wanted to update my website and therefore upload the files to my remote
server, but while the firewall is turned on in PC Guard I can't transfer files.
As soon as i disable the firewall it works fine. I didn't have this problem
with Norton's. Anyone have any ideas why PC Guard prevents me making the
connection to my remote server correctly.

thanks,

ian

Hi,
Something seems strange here. I'm still trying to get my similiar problem
fixed since this morning.
I have Norton and when it's off I can upload and view my changes. When I turn
it back on I can't upload or see it.
I've never had this before. I hope they can come up with a solution soon.
A day went by and nothing got done.
Good luck.
Alex

This is not something that Macromedia will respond to, Alexander. The
answer would be found in Norton's configurations....

I don't think so - this is not an official support forum (MM staff only
comes here occasionally). If you want a response from them, you will have
to contact them directly.
