Password protect folder

I want to password protect a folder, so if anyone wants to view anything inside
of that specific folder they will be prompted to enter a password.

For example: I have images inside a directory "Images". "Images" is inside
another folder called "Website". Inside "Website" i have an .html page which
has links to the images inside "Images". If someone clicked one of those links
to view the images inside the "Images" directory i want them to be prompted to
enter a password in order to view any content inside "Images".

Isn't there another way?
