Default Firefox 1.5 Developer Toolbar? - 12-01-2005 , 08:26 AM

I just installed the new FF 1.5, and would like to add the Developer
Toolbar, but I can't find it on the site for the life of me.

https://addons.mozilla.org/extension...cation=firefox

Can anybody help?

You mean the one from Chris Pedrick?

http://chrispederick.com/work/webdeveloper/

If you just installed 1.5 over 1.0, the Developer Toolbar should have
come over and updated.

I have 1.5 on one box, but it's a non-starter on my main box until the
Link Toolbar extension gets updated to work with 1.5 - I'd go nuts
without it.

I'd hoped so, but it didn't. There was a message saying that it couldn't be
updated.

What does the Links extension do for you?

(At least in the version I have) It puts little arrows in the status bar;
one goes up one level (http://example.com/xyzzy/folder/file.php ->
http://example.com/xyzzy/folder/); the other one goes all the way to the
top (http://example.com/xyzzy/folder/file.php -> http://example.com/ or
http://asdf.example.com -> http://example.com). It's got a couple of
other functions, too - it'll guess that if you're at
http://example.com/page1.php, that the next page in the sequence is
http://example.com/pag2.php. But the up level/go to top buttons are my
big use for it. I've gotten so used to doing that to go up a level in a
site, rather than selecting and cutting on the URI in the location bar
that it hurts going to a browser without it.

That sounds extremely handy - thanks, Joe.
