CCCloner will not see the F/W drive either as a source or a destination, but that's probably because it has not been formatted as a Mac drive. When I format it, what format should I use: Mac OS Extended, Mac OS Standard, or Unix File System? |

what i'd really do.. skip the firewire connection, take a screwdriver to the firewire drive's box and take the HD out of it, slap it into the machine itself, clone across, then put whatever drives back into the machine and clone the boot drive back onto whatever drive you want it on. but then i just like to take stuff apart and leave hard drives hanging out of the cases dangling from cables ![]() |

hfs+ same as mac extended. what do you have for drive types available to stick in this box? as i said in an earlier msg, i'd leave the boot drive alone and just slap the larger drive in as a spare for data, unless you're running low on room on the boot drive, after moving off what doesn't have to stay on the boot drive. what i'd really do.. skip the firewire connection, take a screwdriver to the firewire drive's box and take the HD out of it, slap it into the machine itself, clone across, then put whatever drives back into the machine and clone the boot drive back onto whatever drive you want it on. but then i just like to take stuff apart and leave hard drives hanging out of the cases dangling from cables ![]() CCCloner will not see the F/W drive either as a source or a destination, but that's probably because it has not been formatted as a Mac drive. Not blu, but MacOS Extended is the preferred method. Best regards, Chris |
