Faded Background

This is a newbie question but what tool do you use to create that faded
background look. For example, you have a blue background but you want it to
fade out to white maybe 3/4 the way across the page. I hope that makes
sense. Let me know. Thanks

I know I need to use FW but what tool in FW?
