Sure - do it in your graphics editor. Place the faded image into the table
as a background.

What is CSS?
Just gettin in to the DW thing and am on the verge of feeling over whelmed!!

CSS = Cascading Style Sheet

It is used to style the elements of your page. eg: declare your font, font
sizes, colors, borders etc in the stylesheet.
Link this to every page of your site and if you ever need to make changes to
any of the elements, you do it in one place - the stylesheet and all your
pages are updated.

Have a look at www.mako4css.com for a basic introduction. You may also
want to have a look at the CSS books by Eric Meyer, don't get any better
(there is a list of them at the link in my sig). Also do a google search
for CSS and I'm sure you'll be overwhelmed with what you can find :-)
