Errors

I have a situation here and I can't figure it out. I am using DW MX 2004,
Apache server, mySQL 4.1, and PHP 5. I created a database in mySQL called
test. and put in a few records like name and email. I then opened DW and
created a new PHP document. I created the site, set the testing and remote
sites, and everything works fine. When I go to databases and click on the
plus sign to create the connection to mysql the diaglog box comes up.

Now the problem, after I put in the connection string which im calling
conn_test, the name of the database, the user (root) and password (test) I
click on the browse button and I get a warning box saying that an unexpected
error has occured. I try to put in the name of the database and still get
the same warning. I started the Apache service and mySQL service, tried
shutting them both down, and still nothing.

ANY help will be greatly appreciated.
